Please read the instructions carefully before you proceed with the submission of your abstract.
I. GENERAL GUIDELINES
All abstracts should be submitted electronically through the abstract submission system, and if accepted, presented in English.
- Abstract submission is OPEN now.
- Abstract submission deadline is extended to 10th April 2021, 23:59 (UTC -7) / 11th April 2021, 14:59 (GMT+8) . Once the abstract is received, it is considered a final version and will undergo an ongoing review.
- Notice of abstract submission acceptance/rejection: 18th June 2021
By submitting the abstract you understand and agree that:
- if the abstract is accepted, it will be published in the electronic version of the Abstract Supplement for the Global Health Literacy Summit
- if the abstract is accepted, you will attend the first Global Health Literacy Summit. To confirm your attendance, you have to register for the Summit by 31st July 2021. If you have not registered by that date your abstract will be removed from the Summit program and Abstract Supplement.
- you are responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have agreed to be listed on the abstract.
- your abstract will not be edited. You are responsible for any spelling, grammatical and typographical errors.
- Please note that the Program Committee reserves the right to decide on the final presentation format.
Please note that if your abstract is included in a workshop/symposium proposal, it should NOT be submitted as a single abstract.
II. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Abstracts should follow the appropriate type of presentation.
- Abstracts must be in the English language only.
- Abstract titles have a maximum of 20 words. Abstract titles should be in lower case, except the first word, abbreviations and countries. Do not use capital letters only and avoid using abbreviations or acronyms.
- The content of the abstracts should not include more than 350 words
- Abstracts should be written in Size 11 font, Arial font style.
- Abstracts may not contain photos, graphs or tables.
- Author and co-author: you can include up to 8 co-authors, including one presenting author.
III. SUBMISSION PROCESS

If you do not have a username you can create a new profile via clicking the button "Create your account". Please check the abstract submission PDF file for instructions. Interest groups play a vital role in shaping the organization at large. They are run by and for members; as such they reflect the topics and pursuits of our members. If your abstract is relevant to an IHLA interest group, it may be selected and offered as part of an IHLA Interest Group session
V. Changes in presenting author
The presenting author is responsible for delivering the presentation if the abstract is accepted. In case the presenting author is unable to attend the Global Health Literacy Summit, a substitute presenter may take the presenting author’s place. The new presenter must be listed as co-author on the abstract and must be registered for the Summit.
VI. Copyright & Legal Obligation
- All information in the abstract submission, including authors' names, affiliations, authors order of listing, and the content of abstract, will be used in the summit publications.
- The contributor carries legal obligations of the abstract; any violation to a third party’s right will be the responsibility of the contributor him/herself.
- The Global Health Literacy Summit has the copyright to use the abstract in the congress for scientific purposes without any prior notice to the contributor/authors.
